Machinery Safety

Safety Services

Don't take chances. Get trained with our machinery safety services. Whether you are entering a CE compliance program or running a safety improvement program, you need the right know-how when choosing safety consultant services for your industry.

There are many areas of machinery safety that require competence to perform adequately - in order to achieve a suitable and confident level of safety integrity. SafetyTec offers a variety of training courses, from risk assessment training to CE awareness courses. Ask us about providing a tailor-made course to suit your individual requirements.

01 - RISK ASSESSMENT

Prove your machine is safe

Your machine is always considered not safe unless you can prove that it is - by way of a proper process of risk analysis or numeric assessment. It makes no difference how safe or how well built your machinery or products are if you cannot prove it.

Risk assessment is a mandatory part of the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, needed for CE compliance. The directive focuses heavily on risk and risk reduction and considers any machine to be unsafe unless proven otherwise.

Risk assessment is used to determine a machine's ability to cause harm and the degree of that harm. It also measures any residual risk after safety action is taken, and determines the effectiveness of any safety system fitted. Whether for CE marking or not, risk assessment is the single most important aspect of any machinery safety process.

Don't take chances. Get trained.

02 - TESTING & MEASUREMENT

Quantify the hazards

Many US, European and other international standards require certain aspects of machinery to be assessed by approved test and measurement. In some cases, measurements must be recorded in a systematic way - and used to determine the value of hazard or risk, or the suitability of a safety system.

As part of our CE compliance programs - or as separate services - we test and measure:

  • Noise and sound pressure testing
  • Vibration, including whole-body vibration
  • Stop performance testing
  • Safety product verification
03 - REPORTING

Documentation that holds up

Documentation and tests are important aspects of maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Let us help with:

  • Best practices
  • Operational manuals
  • Health & Safety policy documents
  • Accident investigation
  • Machinery safety performance tests
  • Risk assessments
  • Stop performance testing
  • Acoustical testing
  • Vibration testing
  • Management safety reports

Always tailored to client requirements

Management safety reports should always be tailored to client requirements - and always within regulation. We don't believe in cookie-cutter compliance. Tell us about your operation and we'll design a program that fits.
